America has a kairos moment right now. Indeed, a chance has arisen for broader social engagement in the response to racism, an opportunity to consider how we shall bring into practice the demands of Isaiah 58. The road ahead is uncertain, and the right path may be unclear (cf. Mt 7:13-14), but we must seek to exit from this “dark night of injustice," (Gustavo Gutiérrez, We Drink from Our Own Wells).
