Hosts Lucy and Lennard Tenende opened their home on Thursday, June 23, 2022, to celebrate the works the Spiritans have accomplished over the years in their native Tanzania.

Their guests, Houston area members of the Tanzanian diaspora, were invited to hear of the contributions of the Spiritans, specifically in education and the story of their fourteen-year journey with the Libermann School in Kipawa, Dar es Salaam.

An elaborate dinner, featuring a variety of Tanzanian foods was held under a festive outdoor tent.

Bruce Wilkinson, whose family foundation has funded the development of the school spoke of his first visit to Kipawa in 2007 and his meeting with then bishop Rogath Funimoya Kimaiyo, C.S.Sp., whose dream was to build a school in a slum adjacent to the Julius Nyerere International Airport.

Father Michael Grey and Ray Sylvester assisted in presenting the Libermann School story.
