I'm Father Bill Christy, Vocation Director for the US East Province of the Spiritans and it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Vocation Section of the Spiritan website. What you will find in the following pages are small "postcards" from Spiritans telling you about their lives and about their experiences in our formation stages. Also, you will be able to learn more about the specific steps it takes to become a Spiritan. No website can answer all the questions you might have regarding religious life or about the Spiritans. We have laboured on these pages to give you some of the basic facts and an insight to our lives of prayer, ministry and community. If these stories speak to your heart - if you begin to see yourself, your spirituality, your desires and the way that you want to live out your life in service to God and the poor - then take the next step and contact a Spiritan. This maybe the first time that you have looked at website concerning Vocation and then again it maybe the hundredth site that you have come to. Thinking about becoming a priest or brother is a major step in your life and often a frightening experience. I remember when I first sought out vocation information. I hadn't told anyone what I was thinking about and I wondered who else was writing to Vocations Directors and if they were as confused as I was. Just know you are not alone. There are hundreds that visit this website every week and they are just like you - they have a feeling that they are called for more, they have found that the two hours that they volunteer in ministry means more to them than the forty hours they put in at work. There is a freshness to their prayer life when they pray about their vocation They are asking questions and seeking answers. Click and scroll through the site. Copy down a phone number or an email address and carry it around with you for a few days. Take some time in prayer and put yourself in the place of the men that you read about. Get to know us, our lives, our backgrounds our experiences. If they strike a cord with you and with your own vision for your life then initiate contact. I'm happy to take some time to explore your vocation with you because that's what I'm here for - this is how I serve my community and serve God, by serving you. God's Blessings be with you, Fr.
