After Jesus ascended into heaven but before He sent the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the apostles and disciples gathered in fervent prayer. This time of expectant waiting gave rise to the tradition of the novena prayer. By praying a novena, we ask God to send the Spirit upon us and bless us. We usually have a specific intention in mind.
Devotion to the Holy Spirit is a vital part of our lives throughout the year. This novena is fruitful, not only in the days before Pentecost, but at any time throughout the year. We invite you to pray this novena prayer with others or by yourself. Join us as we pray: Come, Holy Spirit, come!
