What is a lay Spiritan? Perhaps a better question is who is a lay Spiritan? Lay Spiritans are individuals called by God to live in practical union with God in the Spirit. While not formal Spiritan "brothers" or "sisters", lay Spiritans are an essential part of the Spiritan family. Equipped with a rich variety of gifts and unique personalities, they work with the Spiritan fathers and brothers at various levels of the Congregation's ministry.
By integrating the Congregation's charism into their everyday lives, lay Spiritans are witnesses to the Scriptural truth that there are "many gifts, one Spirit." Spread across the globe, they can be found serving as campus ministers, parish ministers, school principals, researchers, and college professors, sharing Christ's word as missionaries in Tanzania, Mexico, and the Philippines, as well as working throughout America as social workers, fund-raisers, and after-school program coordinators.
This section provides an insider's look into the lives and works of lay Spiritans. Hear their stories. Listen to their experience.
